French Consulate In Phuket - Anyone Contact Them?

Featured Replies

I have a Thai friend in Phuket who is married to a French man. She has been to France with him once already and came back to Thailand when her visa ran out. Her husband stayed in France.

She came to Bkk a few months ago to apply for a new visa for France. Now she needs to know if the visa is ready for collection but cannot get through on the phone to the Embassy in Bkk - no-one answers it.

She tried phoning the consulate in Phuket but, again, no-one answers the phone. So she wants to go there but has only a telephone number (076-391-152), not an address. I have done extensive googling and have also come up with the phone number, but no address - just a P.O. box number.

She found out from the wife of the French man who used to work at the (now closed) French embassy in Rawai, Phuket, that the consulate is in the Boat Lagoon.

So, does anyone have an address or any experience of dealing with this consulate?

Personally, I think she's going to have to come to Bkk again and camp out at the Embassy to get an answer. I've seen two reviews of the Phuket consulate here, and they weren't good!

I have no experiance of this but common sense tells me she will have to return to Bangkok.

May be this helps:

I have to agree. Unfortunately she is fairly illiterate - can't read or write Thai, let alone French. Her travelling to Bagkok presents quite a few hurdles for her. The Lord knows how she's going to make it to France. :o

Very much appreciated - will let you know what happens after I call the number.

France 076.288.828

I just Googled that number. It appears to be for the old consulate in Rawai. I'll give it a go anyway first thing tomorrow.
