My partner's sister has a daughter, 7 years old, who is not developing at the expected rate for her age. She doesn't have any serious disabilities but is clearly a slow learner who would benefit from some extra support.

Problem. This girl lives in a remote part of Isaan and the local schooling officials, frankly, don't have much of a clue what to do about it. We would like to help our neice, but equally frankly, we can't afford to get her privately educated. We have heard rumours however of the possible existence of part-government/part-private subsidised establishments for children with special needs. One such rumour is that there is a place somewhere in Chiang Mai.

Anyone got any information?
