Storage Facilities In Bangkok

Featured Replies

I've got some furniture and equipment that I need to put into storage - does anyone have any recommendations and approximate costs? I've seen one that was like 250 baht per cubic meter but at that price I can practically leave the stuff where it is now...

Also looking for a scrap dealer who wants to buy up all sorts of wood and/or metal.

Recommendations appreciated.

Thanks Bilip, I will give this company a call tomorrow as I require storage of household items for two months from next week. Just one question, I dont really want to take my laptop with me (jewellery/watches) I have bought here in Thailand on my trip out of the country. Would the storage rooms be safe enough to store these items as well?. I notice they advertise secure pin access, and would pay extra for insurance, or would it be better to put these items in a safe deposit box at a bank? is it possible to do this in Bangkok?

thanks in advance

On the safe deposit issue it is very difficult to arrange one here, especially at short notice, for a foreigner, even with your own bank. There are a few non bank suppliers of the service but they have increasingly moved to only providing services to introduced clients {i.e. through a lawyer}.

Regards

I frequently leave expensive gear, including a laptop, at Bangkok Self Storage. I think they're very secure. Only a very few people have access to the actual storage facility, and they wouldn't even let me in to see how their "Backpacker Storage" looks. They told me they put shelves in a storage unit for that; it costs 100 baht per piece per week.

It would be interesting if someone knew how much it cost per month for one of their small rooms.

Call and ask. They're very friendly.

Hi, the cost on enquiry for a four square metre room from Bangkok Self Storage for one month is 8,600bht per month; plus deposit of 4,300bht (as I understand it, deposit is refunded to customer minus 750bht for cleaning and fumigation at end of contract and conditions of contract by customer are adhered to); admin fee 400bht; padlock 327bht (option to supply your own lock); VAT 953.90bht.

Customer has 24 hour access using own choice security pin number. There is a security camera at entrance to the building. Extra for insurance and is done through a broker. You can also arrange to have pick up and delivery from your door, two guys 1,000bht. You can buy boxes from them (or can use your own), they only had smallish size ones when I was there.

The room I looked at was very clean, (only shown empty rooms, which is good), reception/admin staff very friendly and helpful.

Cheers

(apologies, my mistake) the total costs above are for a two month (not one month as in my first post) contract for a four square metre room 14,581bht
