Mapjack

Just been trying to check out a bit more of Pattaya on Mapjack and it seems to have dissapeared. Has it been removed for legal reasons or is it still there and i can't find it?

Anyone heard anything?

On mine the photo section is blank but the map section below is still showing ..... strange!!

I heard they were busy pixelating the faces of people on their viewer to assuage the concerns of them what may be pictured doing something they shouldn't be doing or rather those being somewhere where they aren't supposed to be. This after some Aussie news article pointed out that privacy may be invaded or it's a great way to catch the hordes of Pattaya's social undesirables at work (depending on how you grind your axe).

This politically correctness is getting too much; what with Dunkin Donuts pulling a web advert because some neocons think that a scarf being worn by the model looks like an arab kaffiyah and therefore exhorts Muslim violence. Then there's those showing their panties over Starbucks new logo because it 'looks like a prostitute with her legs open'. Give me a break! How do they know what a prostitute with her legs open looks like?

Meanwhile, people starve in Burma and it cost me almost 80 bucks to fill up the bloody truck!

When just going to mapjack.com, Pattaya disapeared from their pull down menu altogether!

Only Chiang Mai remains as a Thai location :o

Utterly ridiculous, especially considering the pics were all taken in the mornings.

Hardly a girl to be seen in the library soi :D

But may have shown you NOT stuck in your 20 minute traffic check on Sukhumvit.

I noticed that Pattaya was missing from the menu a couple of days ago and used their feed back form to inquire about that. No response yet.

I also responded in the thread about that Aussie article: Roving Candid Camera Snaps Thailand's Sin City and noted that due to the time of day the pics were taken, it was highly unlikey that anyone would be seen in the pics in a place that others might consider "inappropriate".

If they are blurring faces, that could take quite awhile. I imagine the Pattaya section alone must have thousands and thousands of pics. If I had known they were going to be doing this, I could have zipped ahead of the camera crew(s) and tried to get my face at least once on every street and soi ! :o

Any case, I'm a proud Pattayan (although not tall :o )
