World Buddhism University - Bangkok

The WBU seems to offer several graduate and post-grad courses in Buddhism Studies. Has any TV members studied these courses? If so, any comments, feedback, criticisms etc?

I first read about these courses a year or so ago and my recent MA study at Chula has created an interest in studying Buddhism in more detail, especially Thai Buddhism and the Santi Asoke sect.

Thanks

As an aside, does anyone know if one has a monk visa, if they are allowed to work with a work permit?

Can't say for sure, but as it's a violation of the vinaya for a monk to work, I would say the chances of Thailand's labour department issuing a work permit for someone on the R visa (the closest to a 'monk visa', ie, visa for religious purposes), are close to nil. Perhaps for a Christian missionary they might.

At any rate, sriracha john, you might try posting your query in the Thai visas subforum.
