The diesel engines charge very large batteries that run when under water, diesel propulsion is not used underwater. they are very quiet because they run off the batteries whilst underwater.
July 1, 200817 yr Nobody has mentioned it yet. It may not exactly be the greatest invention of all time but it's effects are worldwide (that includes Thailand). The invention is.................(drumroll)........................the television remote control. Imagine what it would be like with 52 channels of sh1t on the TV and having to get off your ar5e to surf them. Some have mentioned language. Whilst I agree that it is pretty important it is less an invention but more an evolutionary developement. All species on the planet can communicate but, to our (my) knowledge, mankind is the only one with a method of communication that allows discussion of abstract thought. Another pretty important invention is the elevator. Living on the 22nd floor would be hel_l without it although I guess we'd all be a good bit fitter or we'd live in flatter buildings.
