Seems that PP and Siep Reap areas are ok except for Ankor Wat. There are so many visitors that the mosquitos there get infected when they bite people who have gotton malaria but are still symptom free.

Anybody take the treatment which includes pills before you leave?

I work in tourism and have just had one of my clients go to Bumrungrad. She had pain in her chest when exhaling and swallowing. I suspected that she had a cracked rib, but no.

She is taking doxycycline and manages to take them without much water. One of the tablets has lodged in her throat near her aesophagus (sorry for the spelling) and has created an ulcer in the throat.

If and when you DO take any medication, make sure you take it with plenty of water.

And I've had malaria. 4 times now. Not nice. Take the medication or avoid getting bitten like the plague.
