Recommend A Good Detective In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hello. I'm looking for any recommendations for a good private detective in the Bangkok area to help locate a "missing" farang.

The story as relayed to me from friends of the parents. Their son, a 21 year old black American, apparently met a Thai girl going to school in the United States. Now that school is over she went home and he followed. Apparently he kept the whole relationship a secret from his parents, and they only found out about it because they couldn't reach him by phone and sent him an email and he replied back that he was in Thailand because of a girl he met. He told them he was flying back this weekend and gave them the flight information, however his parents still haven't heard anything from him, his phone is still non-reachable and he hasn't replied to any email. They called Cathay Pacific (the airline he supposedly had a flight on) to confirm if he checked in for the flight, but for privacy reasons they won't release that information.

To me it sounds like he's obviously got some issues with his parents (hence keeping this girl a secret from them and flying to Thailand without telling them), and has probably just decided to stay with lady friend a little longer and either doesn't want to deal with his parents or is someplace without easy access to an Internet cafe.

However they are obviously worried that something bad has happened to him. My thought is if he was either arrested or killed the embassy would have already been in contact with them. But anyway, they want some way to try and track him down. And the only thing I could think of that might have a chance is to hire a detective.

So if anyone knows of a good detective, or has other suggestions, please post them.

Assuming you're telling the truth & aren't looking for this guy for other reasons, may I suggest that you keep your nose out of this. He's 21 years of age & will contact his parents if/when he's ready & either you, or anybody else poking their nose into his affairs may do more harm than good.

Found this one on the net. Read it extensively one time and it seems pretty good.

Also, if they declare him missing in the U.S. the authorities could probably eventually get a warrant to see if he was on that flight.

I agree with this 100%

I was asked to help. All I'm doing is asking for recommendations for a reliable PI in Bangkok. I'll pass that on to the parents, and don't have any desire to get involved further. As I said, I believe he's just enjoy time in Thailand and think they are overreacting.

Hi shawndoc,

Get his parents to contact me through our website.

Just Google the name Thai Private Eye or check my profile.

We can help ease some of their concerns quite quickly.

Their son will never know unless his parents tell him. :o

Just a quick update. The son has now come home.

Good for you Shawndoc... You did the right thing in asking for assistance on behalf of the family. People telling you to keep your nose out of it should have done exactly that themselves...... You are obviously a decent person trying to do the right thing... Credit to you.

Did the kid had fun? Is he punished now? :o

you did the right thing and I'm glad the lad's back.

What you will find on this site, is a load of bitter, bored and negative pricks like the first few poster's.. who don't actually read the question and just give unhelpful comments.. They're bitter and bored cause all they have to do each day is teach Thai kids how to say apple in English, which would bore the f&$k out of me too.
