Hey, I've got a couple of questions:

First of all, I'm moving to BKK, Thailand in a couple of months to study kickboxing.  My gym is in Panakorn... I don't have a clue where Panakorn is in relation to everything else and my best efforts to turn up a street map online have proved pretty futile.

I'm trying to find a relatively inexpensive apartment close to Panakorn... any ideas how I could best do this?

Thanks!

Funny thing about Thailand.  They do write in Thai.  But you should be able to find the area on another map now that you have the road pattern.  Try to match up with this:

Bangkok Streetdirectory

Probably the best thing would be to buy a Lonely Planet book. From there, you can see where you're going and find a guesthouse or hotel to stay when you first arrive. Once you've had time to look around, you can find a monthly rental.

Do you have a postal code for Panakorn? Are you sure you have spelled it right? What's the name of the gym? Who is the owner/trainer? How did you get in touch with them?

The more information, the better...in order to help you
