Can anyone recommend a good dentist in Bangkok, hopefully one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Cheers

The subject for this thread should read "Good dentist needed" of course.

Very bad typo there.

Depends on your definition of arm and a leg.

My wife had a full dental exam (including a full set of x-rays), cleaning, and 2 fillings at the Dentalis Clinic in Vejthani Hospital in April for about 2500 baht. She also needed a root canal it was 9400 Baht for the root canal (3 appointments with an endodontist for the actual root canal) and 14000 baht for the gold crown. The crowns range from 14000-20000 depending on the material you choose.

My wife is a wimp when it comes to the dentist and she really liked the ones she saw there.

Thanks for that. :o

Think I'll pass on the gold crowns though! :D

What seems to be your problem (complaint)?

In general Thailand have excellent dentistry at dirt cheap prices.

Wifey had root canal today.

I have 2 crowns. The gold part you can't see. It's covered in porcelin.

I'm new here in Thailand and don't pretend to know a lot about LOS.

BUT, i find it very difficult to believe that good dental can be found "dirt cheap"

Correct me if i'm wrong but a dental practitioner is a skilled occupation (he needs to be to get into my mouth) and a surgery is capital intensive.

I'd be interested to hear other opinions about this.

You're right. Good dentistry will not come "dirt cheap".

And dentistry that does may well end up costing you more in the long run.

Personally, I opt to pay more and be assurred of having it done right the first time, and also to invest in hiogh quality preventive care.

That said, dentistry costs here are reasonable in comparison to the West with possible exception of implants
