A big Yahoo to the powers that be for fixing our internet connection speed. After having been a crawl for 4 or 5 days it seems to be back to normal here in the Big Mango.

Well I am happy for you, but mine is still at its daytime pace of 1.8kB like it has been for three months.  I do sometimes get as much as 20kB between 1am and 6am.  If I am lucky it will still be contected to post this, that only works half the time. ToT 256/128 IpStar 1600Bm  they still fail daily.

Also here, download speeds have been reduced to a fraction of what it used to be ..... Maxnet 2Mb at 590 baht, CAT 4M at 1,090 baht ... TOT has to act fast and clean up their act.

The technician blames the downfall to the increased bandwidth usage due to the Olympic Games ... bottleneck at Taiwan.

The Olympic surprise everyone. How could they ever have accounted for it? :o

The technicians from Thai ISPs always seem to have some excuse for why their Internet is crap, instead of admitting that they are not up for the task of administrating it.

Slow Thai Internet: 55% mismanagement - 35% bad planning - 10% infrastructure

...very far from getting excited. Usually I have a download speed of 3MB +- for international links. (sme Adsl 4mb)

Now pay attention to these figures (location Bangkok - current week)

SF = last week 3200 kb/s - now 900 kb/ps

LA = last week 3400 kb/s - now 780 kb/ps

NY = last week 3200 kb/s - now 585 kb/ps

Guess who was blamed when I called my provider? And the answer was 2 times >quotes: "your phone line no good" and 1 time "CAT have a problem" end quotes<

Maybe I am missing out something?
