End Of Contract

Featured Replies

Is it still the rule that if you get fired within 1 year you will get 1 month extra payment

and if you worked for minium 1 year 3 months extra payment.

information appreciated

I'm not sure those figures are right, but it depends on why you were fired. If fired for cause you don't get anything.

If you get fired following the laid down procedures you will not get anything.....

If you are on a 12 month renewable contract and the company declines to renew your contract...you get nothing

You might want to read the Labor Act again.

You're right if it's a special project that is over. Teaching positions, as an example, do not normally end. The position is ongoing, with new employees. In that case, severance pay might be due.

Terry,

Agree with you, there is nothing wrong with trying it on over serverance pay, the worst that can happen is you will not get it.
