learndutchbkk Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Is it still the rule that if you get fired within 1 year you will get 1 month extra payment and if you worked for minium 1 year 3 months extra payment. information appreciated
TerryLH Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I'm not sure those figures are right, but it depends on why you were fired. If fired for cause you don't get anything.
sniffdog Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 It also depends if you're contract was ended before the end date or not ..... of course. BTW Did you Google before bothering people on TV? http://www.ethailand.com/index.php?id=1802

If you are on a 12 month renewable contract and the company declines to renew your contract...you get nothing
TerryLH Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 "If you are on a 12 month renewable contract and the company declines to renew your contract...you get nothing" You might want to read the Labor Act again. You're right if it's a special project that is over. Teaching positions, as an example, do not normally end. The position is ongoing, with new employees. In that case, severance pay might be due.

Terry, Agree with you, there is nothing wrong with trying it on over serverance pay, the worst that can happen is you will not get it.
