I have always wondered why there are no speedways in Thailand, especially with all the bikes and gangs that race around the streets, to the point where one Policeman has now been killed in Bangkok over street racing. If a few business men got together I am sure they could reach an agreement with the Government and Police to build a large complex to not only be used for bikes but also for stock cars.

Once it took off it would make a huge profit for the investors. They are also great entertainment.

Because the street 'racing' isn't legitimate sport.

There's drugs, alcohol, gangs, etc that go hand in hand with boy racers zooming through the streets on mopeds. Only real racers would actually use a track (and they do) but the others wouldn't be let in the parking lot of something like this.
