What (if Any) Will The Disturbances In Bangkok Have In Pattaya?

Heading to Pattaya in 2 weeks with a couple of friends who have never been to Thailand before. Im not really concerned with the happenings in Bangkok having any negative effect on our holiday but quite understandably, they are a bit worried.

Does anyone think there will be any trouble in Pattaya?

Thanks for any input in putting my mates minds at rest!

Cant' see any problem happening here. Even in Bangkok it is not really effecting anything. Nothing happened in Pattaya at the last coup. Come and enjoy yourself.

Cant see there being a problem, i was here in Pattaya during the last coup and if it had not been for the TV reports you would not have known.

My family in the UK were getting more info than we were.

No worries, enjoy your holiday!!

Cant see any problems in pattaya but you dont know with these hired thugs.

the wife and i spent Saturday in the 'kok, mostly at Chatachuk. no problems getting in, shopping, walking around and no problems coming back in to Pattaya. i would only monitor the airport for any trouble. otherwise, bring it on...

Can you imagine what would happen if a few thai hoolies/chavys try to stop people going into the bars, the girls would kill em and the lady boys would be right peed off lol.

An even bigger threat would be all the horny alcoholics. Not that there's anything wrong with being very horny. :o

As that is our route in, its the only thing that worries me a little bit. Not getting caught up in a riot just that it may close or there be severe delays.

I am not sure if PAD are paying enough for their 'flying pickets' to pull off a Phuket airport style interference at Suvarnabhumi. However, if they pay the unions enough to persuade more Thai Airways staff to take 'sick leave', you could see some delays to all air services.
