My fiances multiple entry tourist visa expires on 14th Feb, but we are going back to LOS for Christmas and New Year. Can anyone tell us whether she can apply for the fiance visa (known as a settlement visa I gather) before her toursit visa expires? We want to get married on 28th May next year.

Also, if she comes back to UK in January for a month or so will this count toward the 9 or 10 weeks waiting time for the interview in Bangkok?

Thanks for any advice, I'm feeling my way on this and people on this site (Scouser for example) have helped a lot over the last year.

Hi Gary,

Basically yes to all of your questions. Your fiancée can apply for the settlement visa when you're in Thailand at Xmas, she can continue to travel on her visit visa and she can spend the waiting time in the UK up until the expiry date, just returning to Thailand for the interview.
