Ploen Chit Fire

Featured Replies

I was in Bkk for the first time in a while this past weekend, and noticed that one whole corner of the Sukhumwit/Wittayu intersection was burned to a crisp. This was a really good area for street food when staying at a nearby hotel. Does anyone know what happened? Did I miss an earlier thread?

There was no fire. The lot was sold and the buildings are being cleared out to be replaced by a huge project.

Hmmm ... ok, everything looked pretty char broiled to me, but I was way tired and semi-wasted.

Char-broiled is often in the eye of the tired and semi-wasted beholder! Expect to see a massive new retail-office-hotel complex in two years time.

Are you talking hi-rise office and retail? if so it won't be two years time.

I think they are aiming at 11-11-11 at 11:11am, but that could change!
