Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and have an emergency. I'm pregnant and my Thai boyfriend has left me after I told him of my situation. I dont want to have a baby now, for economic and emotional reasons. Please, I live in Krabi and need to find a safe and discreet place to terminate that pregnancy. I Know its a polemic topic, but please help. Thanks a lot for the understanding.

Hi!

I just wanted to tell you that I understand your situation and how you feel about it.

I have no experience of this myself but my feeling is that you will recieve the best treatment in Bangkok regarding these things.

Go to a serious clinic or hospital and it is very important that this is done correctly so it won´t spoil any chances to have children in the future.

Hope things work out well for you.

Take care, big hug,

Thanks for all the advice. I heard that Trang has a hospital that has the mentioned facilities. I am not Thai, so any organisation would be probably not viable. Correct me if I'm wrong.

PDA clinics will treat both foreigners and Thais, no discrimination there (it is not free, but it is highly affordable). Language may be an issue though if you don't speak Thai and do not have a Thai speaker to accompany you. For that matter, same may hold true at a hospital in Trang.

There are many hospitals in Bangkok with good English speaking capacity that cater to foreigners, but of course that is extra time and travel. Also need to take note, as explkained in the thread, that thailand does not allow abortion on demand, only in c ases where a doctor feels it is necessary on grounds of the woman's (physical or mental/emotional) health, so some discussion will be necessary to enable the doctor to make that determination, you can't simply call up and ask to schedule the procedure.

I hope you have a sympathetic and understanding friend at your side in all this. If so, then in deciding where to go should factor in being able to have that person with you.

I am also sending you a PM
