Accused drunken driver ends up running over self

The Associated Press

Updated: 11/26/2008 06:26:25 AM MST

SANTA FE, N.M.—A man is in a northern New Mexico jail, accused of driving drunk and leading police on a chase that finally ended with him running over himself.

Roy Travis Aguilar, 21, was treated for minor injuries at a Santa Fe hospital and booked into the Sandoval County detention center on charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated, fleeing a police officer, careless driving and two other outstanding traffic warrants.

A tip on a police hot line Sunday afternoon reported a possible drunken driver on a highway.

State Police Officer Grace Romero spotted Aguilar's pickup truck swerving across both lanes of the highway, driving slowly and then fast. He refused to stop.

After narrowly missing other vehicles, police said Aguilar drove through a ditch and a barbed-wire fence before stopping. He tried to put the truck into park, but it ended up in reverse.

Police said Aguilar fell from his open door and both of his legs were run over by the front driver's side tire.

Puts a new slant on the term legless!

But in this case, I do not think the karma rule applies, stupid things happen to drunk people, trust me I know this for a fact :o

I think he might need Good Luck

Do you think he can press charges against himself?

Do you think he can press charges against himself?

I don't think that he'd have a leg to stand on.

I'll get my coat.

I truly hope karma is for real but I fear it is only wishful thinking.

This case is a little to close to call because, I hate it when that happens.

I guess Karma is a little bit like fate.

Like, you hear about people that survive the most unbelievable things and do not die. I think it is because it was not their "time" .

And i hope my time does not come for a long time. Still gotta lotta things to see and do and people to annoy.

How's that working for ya? :o

aggravated driving while intoxicated

Agravated driving? Is that where you drive down the road shouting out "get out my f*****g way you b*****ds you are aggravating the sh1t out of me"? In which case I was guilty of aggravated driving on the M6 every Friday afternoon through 2005.

So, if that is so, aggravated driving while intoxicated means he was slurring his curses.

Anyhow, call it karma or fate the bottom line is that he got his comeuppance.

Not sure his come will ever be upped again to be honest.

If Buddhism works, he'll come back as a snail.

Or as a patch for an arse with boils !!!
