I had been looking forward to this show for several months. Yes, there were lots of eguipment manufacturer's there; all the big names represented. but I was disapointed that there was not so much available in demonstrations and techniques. What does everyone else think about the show this year. It was my first time to attend.

I went on Sunday and thought much the same thing. Except for the smaller retailers and specialty vendors the big names presented nothing much that you can't see in any decent camera shop. I did see one guy doing a lecture and from the setup of the event it appeared there were others at times.

I was disappointed not to find some items I've been looking all over for.

Specifically, I want to find a bracket with a hot shoe which I can attached to my camera's tripod mount like an extra grip so I can offset the flash from the usual location above the viewfinder. I've never seen one in Thailand. I'll probably end up making one before I find one. Also looking for a plastic diffuser to slide onto the head of the flash unit. These can not be bought either, apparently.

Another item I'm looking for is 330gsm (or close) double sided glossy A4 photo paper for inkjet printing. The heaviest I've been able to find so far is 220gsm.

So I went , I saw, I bought nothing. Looks like everyone has the same stock standard range of bits and pieces. Yet to find a decent camera shop in Thailand.

PS. Photo Expo may not be the best use of your time....try the Motor Expo at Muang Thong Thani instead. Plenty of photography going on there.

Try an online company called "rightstuff" (I think) - they manufacture most of this type of product for flash mounting. The diffuser you seek (depending on your flash head) is a Stofen and Fotofile in BKK have a large assortment.

Never yet seen printable paper at this weight. Generally it's accepted that 260 gsm is the optimum weight and this is readily available at most general camera stores. I use an imported brand called Olmec which is quite superb and again can be ordered on line
