Hotel For Us Embassy Bangkok

Featured Replies

Need to go to Bangkok Thursday night (December 18) for a Friday interview for my girlfriend at the US Embassy. Can anyone recommend a good inexpensive hotel. I haven't been to Bangkok for 15 years, at least, and don't have a clue where to stay.

Thanks in advance

The Dynasty on Sukhumvit Soi 4 (Nana Tai). About B1500/night

Book online at www.dynastyinn.com

15-20 minute walk to the US legation and you can stop for breakfast noodles on the corner of Wireless and Ploenchit.

I have become partial to the Citadines chain of hotels. It is part of the Somerset Hotel group but is their budget brand. They have brand new locations on Sukie sois 8 and 11. I personally like the soi 8 location as it's down near the end of the soi so very quiet and not many sex-tourists (don't worry, have free tuk-tuk service to Sukie). Also, lots of great restos on soi 8.

Right now, they have opening specials of B 1600 for studio rooms, which have small kitchenette and free broadband (wired) internet. From soi 8, just a short ride to Wireless and US Embassy.

Jim's Lodge Hotel on Soi Ruam Rudee is opposite parts of the Embassy complex.

Citidines are great value.

Cheers
