On Friday, Khun Wirawat, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya led a press conference to officially announce the Pattaya Countdown Festival 2009 which will take place at the Bali Hai Port between 25th December and 31st December.

The event is organized by the Chonburi Provincial Council, Pattaya City Hall, The Tourism Authority of Thailand, GMM Media and the MCOT Broadcasting Company.

Utilizing a total budget of over 20 Million Baht, this 7 day spectacular will hope to revive the struggling tourism industry here in Pattaya.

The New Years Eve Party will be shown live on Thai National TV and is expected to be featured on live broadcasts around the world.

13 Thai Bands and many Thai celebrities are expected to take part in the seven day extravaganza.
