um I was wondering why you can't post links in posts?

i got two PMs from someone saying that it is prohibited.. what's the harm? I see links all the time.

You can post links here but with a few limitations. Any site that you link to has to be in compliance with the board's terms and conditions. Furthermore, you should provide enough info in your post to let a reader know where, and what kind of content the link is leading them to.

Some links are informative, and are better than pasting a wad of copyrighted material into the forum. Others are just there because the poster is too lazy to type the information out themselves.

I does tend to annoy people if you post mostly links, and most of your posts will not get read that way. Just put yourself in the position of those reading, and use links with discretion, like you would any post.
