"Workers will no longer be forced to retire at 65 under radical plans which will help those whose savings have been hit by the recent financial turmoil"

<deleted>, more like "kill those whose savings have been destroyed by the Labour party"

So you think that your inflation linked National Pension, private pension and government employee pension is safe under Labour?

Hah! Time to think again, brush off the old CV, head down to the Employment Office with a sprightly walk and stand in line behind the other 3,000,000 unemployed and unemployable.

If you are on a happy retirement here in Thailand, then it's time to start tightening the wallet and belt. With the current UK economy and government there is no way that ANY pension will be paid for the 20 odd years after retirement. They are all INSOLVENT and will possibly be nationalised, which means the government will be able to pay GBPs coming straight off the printing press. But these GBP's won't be worth a fukc or even a small beer for that matter.

Another GREAT Labour solution to the problems that they have created! :o:D :D

I wouldn't worry about what Brown the Clown is doing. You need to be worried about the EU

This sixth and final EU treaty formally replaced Britain with the European Union on 1st January 2009. This is a year before the deadline set by the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel.

The Treaty "takes primacy" over the British Constitution which it thereby abolished, and with it the nations of Britain and England; it gives the EU the power to close our Westminster Parliament (probably on 5th May 2010). It may take two or three years for the EU to consolidate its power, after which it will be impossible to get out.

As interesting as UK politics may be to those of us fortunate enough to be born there I'm afraid that in this instance they have nothing to do with Thailand and thus this thread is closed.
