Accident Mystery Death in Forest as Man Shot While Foraging
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. A 48-year-old man was fatally shot under mysterious circumstances while foraging in the forest with friends in Phitsanulok Province. The incident occurred in a remote area of Ban Nam Phrom, Moo 4, Wang Nok Aen Subdistrict, Wang Thong District. According to reports from the Burapha Rescue Unit of the Phitsanulok Kusolsongkroh Foundation, the victim, identified as Mr. Bandit, a local resident of Wang Nok Aen, sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen and died while being carried down the mountain for medical attention. The incident was reported to Police Lieutenant Sakon Cheowwijit of Kaeng Sopha Police Station, who confirmed that emergency services were alerted after gunshots were heard in the forest followed by cries for help. Friends who heard the commotion rushed to the area and found Mr. Bandit lying in a pool of blood, severely wounded but still breathing. Rescuers on arrival used a rescue stretcher to transport him down the rugged, rain-soaked terrain. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital. Due to the remote location and worsening weather conditions, the rescue operation was hindered, contributing to the fatal outcome. The body was later transported to the forensic department at Buddhachinaraj Hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have launched a full investigation into the incident. The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.
