Sukhothai provide blankets to cold weather victims

Sukhothai provincial officials have distributed warm blankets to cold weather victims in the concerned areas.

Today (January 21), Mr. Choeisak Thalathee (เชยศักดิ์ ถาละถี), Ban Kluai mayor, presided over the event to distribute blankets in Ban Kluay municipal district, Sukhothai province. Ban Kluay’s local residents have currently been affected by extreme cold weather conditions as the temperature has dropped down to 10 degree Celsius. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) thus decided to declare Sukhothai province as emergency zone due to the high air pressure which has been dominating the northern region of Thailand. Sukhothai Governor Mr. Yothin Samutkhiri (โยธินศร์ สมุทรคีรีจ์) and President of Sukhothai Administration Organization Mr. Manu Phukprasert (มนู พุกประเสริฐ), had already provided 1,000 blankets to the affected residents at this point.
