Screw Driver For Torx Pinhead Screws.

Featured Replies

I'm tying to dismantle an external USB housing (Seagate) to upgrade the HDD inside, the unit is held together with Pinhead (anti-tamper) TORX security screws.

Any suggestions (in Pattaya if possible) of somewhere that would sell them?

I have tried the Amorn (?) shop in the basement of Tukcom on South Pattaya Road but didn't see them on display, tried asking but without a printed picture to refer to, my assistant was unable to assist.

Nice site naming some of the security screws in use.

Have a look in stores selling tools. The last set I bought was from a general odds and ends type shop that sold everything from electrical plugs to plastic coat hangers.

Look for a screwdriver handle pack that has an assortment of different driver bits but check the pack to see if it has the bits you need.

Thanks I'll try them.

I've found that a flat-blade driver will often slip between the pin and outer and engage in two of the Torx slots, OK if it's not too tight.

A friend with a lathe could drill out your regular Torx bits.
