Okay, this is probably a pretty silly question but I just got my 1 year ED visa back in the mail and was wondering if different countries have different visas?

The reason I ask is that the stamp in my passport looks really simple. It's just a plain ink stamp with details written in pen. I've looked on the net to see what pictures of other thai visas look like and they seem pretty elaborate with holograms and pictures etc. I did need to send them a picture but not sure what it was used for since all I got back is my passport with that stamp in it.

I'm probalby making too big of a deal about it but my curiosity needs to be satiated.

Thanks.

Shaun

BTW, I'm in Canada if that makes a difference.

Which consulate? I Don't think it was Vancouver or the Embassy.

Your visa if fine. Some consulates still use rubber stamps. Most official consulates use stickers now. But honorary consulates use the stamp.

It was Toronto.

I was actually looking for a 1 year visa to study thai boxing and my home consulate (Edmonton) as well as Calgary and Ottawa all said no, they only give out 3 month visas. I called Toronto just to see what they would say and I got an 'absolutely!'. Sent everything to them in the mail.

Thanks for the super-quick response.
