Why Has Bedlam Become A Graveyard?

Featured Replies

Maybe a forum name change is needed...something like "young hot virgins" might prompt a bit more interest.

as my contributions in technical or investment matters are concerned and where i spend most of my "TV time".

You could contribute a few interesting Investment/technical threads here, some of us don't get the time to hit all the forums.

I would appreciate one or two threads of a diverse nature, as long as they don't degenerate into a flame fest.

bedlam is not exactly the right place for that.

Why? Has has become so dumbed down that it is good for nothing but 'word games', potless news articles and change a letter?

...or that there's not that many people who read Bedlam anymore.

I don't have a problem with that, there are around twenty ex-pats around here, the vast majority can't talk about anything other than how many eggs they got today or the way muslims are taking over the world or the exchange rate, the select few that can chat on a broader range of subjects, I value their company.

I'd settle for a little conversation covering eggs, Muslims and the exchange rate. I ran into one of my few neighbors last night and he said "gee there's been a lot of people been playing cards at my house lately". (His Mrs has been running an illegal casino in the house for several weeks now).

More on the Village Idiot here.

I'd settle for a little conversation covering eggs, Muslims and the exchange rate.

But not all night, seven days a week.

Read your blog entry, we have a couple of those here. I mentioned before that there are around twenty ex-pats that socialise in our little town and a couple of them fall in to the same category, there are however over twice that number that you never see, well, you see them, but if they make any attempt to move towards our bar, they are very quickly steered away by something small and brown that shouldn't be able to knock over a match-box ..... we are all ex-thieves and criminals you see "not people you want to talk to darling" (because if you do, you may find out how much things do actually cost here)

My ability to spot the village idiot is somewhat heightened.... because, at one time, I was one myself.

Well that's one way of getting people to read your blog!!

How do these things work? I've thought about opening up something of my own, but never seem to have the time (or patience) to set it up.

It's relatively simple, just click here.

It's a good way of preserving memories and ideas in a friendly and appreciative environment.

Not a criticism, well okay it is, but for me too many threads are just covering YouTube pieces with no real thought provoking input. It might be just me but everything I see from YouTube strengthens my belief that is is merely a home for the mentally challenged.

I clicked on a link this morning to sit through some three minutes of some Chinese woman wailing because she missed her flight. This, apparently, has become a star turn of almost cult status. Is this what the human race now deems as entertainment? I can understand now how people moan about the state of television. It's not that it has been dumbed down but that the watcher's intelligence quotients are probing negative territory.

I love that opening line, Phil - 'Not a criticism, well okay it is..' :o Priceless!

Personally, I'm feeling that our hands are tied just as much in here, as they are in the open forum. Nuff said.

What you said ! :o:D :D

Phil used to be indecisive, now he's not sure.....

I used to be conceited, until someone told me I was perfect.

(Mind you, he was wearing a dress)

Jockstar told you you were perfect?

Dress wearing sycophancy, the way to TV Nervarna !!!!

Perfect and "hansum man" aren't necessarily the same thing.

Sometimes a mirror is required for a reality check. :o

It's getting worse (quieter). This room's so empty now that if I call out, the echo actually replies to me:

Hello Hello Hello Is anybody there there there

(Echo) No no no Go Away away away

Was it? I hadn't noticed noticed noticed. :o

I used to visit bedders quite a bit, it was a very healthy blend of witticism and eccentricity on all manner of topics, highbrow, lowbrow and off the wall but completely lost interest after outside the box was launched.. I tried but it no longer had the same appeal

You know, he's right :o

Lunacy seems frowned upon, the fun has left the house.

Lunacy seems frowned upon

Who frowns on it? The only reason OSTB was created was for the members (at their request) to have a place to post seriously away from the low post count general population but the main bedlam page is still the same.

Well if I was to say Boo that some very harmless lunacy has been deleted by one of your colleagues, I would be in breach of TV rules........So I wont.

I have a pressing question- why has Bedlam become a place primarily for a small number of Bedlam residents to moan endlessly about Outside the Box, rather than posting the lunacy to which they say they aspire? :o:D (I hope I'm not hijacking a serious discussion here- or if it is, maybe we should move it to OSTB? Just kidding, kidding!!!)

Enough Already......................

Shouldn't we be moving on now?

Moss

a small number of Bedlam residents to moan endlessly

I don't moan, I constructively criticise :o

I love a good moan.....especially when those Japanese girls do it. :o

So if your seeking a suggestion from me, come up with a few topics that are new, vibrant and original (outside the field of technology and investment of course) so us less creative Earthlings can wile away a few happy hours discussing them with you. :D

give me some time Scea. i'm not used to "bedlam" forums (i deliberately refrain from using the expression "fora") and i might come up with something of interest. but that's not guaranteed.

How about a thread entitled 'How to make a million quid (or Euros if you wish - there isn't much difference) in six easy lessons'? I'm sure you'd have an avid readership :o

i could open a thread with that heading but unfortunately not lecture people in six easy lessons how to do it. i could however contribute an easy and simple solution to a question like "How Do I Make a Small Fortune?".

The answer to a question like "How Do I Make A Small Fortune" is to have your money invested in the U.S. stockmarket. I used to have a large fortune. Now I have a much smaller fortune.

I'm sorry that Bedlam has gone quiet.

i'll try to spend more time here.

Yours,

A.B. Sentee

Agreed ... but only because you can't pixelate a good moan ..... but some do sound a bit squeaky.
