A Few Questions Regarding Travel To Cm

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

I will travel to Thailand with my Thai Wife in a few months and we are planning a trip with the family to Chiang Mai, first time for everyone.

I never took a domestic flight in Thailand so I have a few questions, if you don't mind :o

- We will travel with the family so there will be kids. What documents do they need to be allowed to enter the plane ? Or don't they need anything ?

- What are the best air company's to fly to CM. The most important is the service, respect of schedule and then the price.

- What are the air company's to avoid at all costs ?

That's all for the moment. Oh and if you have a nice hotel/resort to recommend in Chiang Mai, don't hesitate.

Thanks

B.

there are many carriers flying from BKK ro chang mai. all you need for the kids(and everyone) is an id.

Thai fly on-time, from Swampy ( and Don Muang until end-March), but cost more, allow 20 kgs (more for frequent-flyers) and give you Star-Alliance airmiles. Most flights are on wide-bodied planes, all the others airlines are narrow-bodied, single-aisle.

Nok Air fly generally-on-time, from Don Muang, and cost less, but have 15/20 kg baggage-limits (depends on ticket-class), except in their Nok Plus upgraded-seats (30 kgs), which cost more.

Bangkok Airways fly a few times daily, from Swampy, and tend to cost more, as befits a self-proclaimed 'boutique-airline'.

Air Asia fly regularly from Swampy, are cheap & cheerful, but VERY weight-conscious (15 kgs or you WILL pay) and sometimes tardy.

One-Two-Go is One-To-Avoid, due to alleged safety-concerns, allows 20 kgs flying from Don Muang a couple of times per day.

You pays your money ... and takes your choice. Have a good trip ! :o

Yes. Air Asia. Cheap and cheerful. For the kids, a birth certificate will do.

Thank you for the answers.

The baggage-limits are for 1 person, right ? If so, that will not be a problem.

I will have to choose between Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways or Nok Air.
