What Is That "star" In The Evening Sky

Featured Replies

Has anyone noticed the bright "star" in the eastern sky at dusk and visible for several hours each evening. It moves to fast to be a planet or star and too slow to be a satellite. It has been in the same location for several months (that I have noticed anyway) and moves fairly fast. It takes a few hours for it to move out of my sight.

Anyone know what this is?

Someone had suggested that it is the space station but I can't seem to verify that.

That's Saturn to the east and Venus to the west. There are no significant satellites due to pass overhead Thailand in the next 10 days. If you're interested in such stuff, go to http://www.heavens-above.com , register and select a town/city near you (you'll be surprised at the number of Thai villages), then you'll have NASA-central available at your fingertips. The schedule for satellites is accurate to the second......and you can see in advance what satellites are heading your way. It's one of my daily websites to visit.

It is the planet Venus, not a star.

Here is a photo I took from my land in Chiang Mai last December:

Would Venus ever be in the *eastern* sky at dusk?

Would Venus ever be in the *eastern* sky at dusk?

I don't think so. It currently rises in the east just after the Sun and before the Moon:

I must apologize, I meant to say the western sky at dusk. That is where I continuously see this "star". I actually already downloaded the stellarium program hoping to identify it but this "star" doesn't seem to correspond with the the rest of the stars and planets shown on their software. Also what ever it is, it moves very fast, usually gone within a few hours (out of my limited field of view anyway). But this is in the western sky not the eastern sky as i mistakenly wrote. If it is venus it has been in the same postion in the sky for several months now and moves very fast....

I always thought it was Shinsat....or whatever it's called now.

Regards

Oh, OK. So in the west, Venus is just up a bit from the moon after dusk and "travels" about the same speed as the moon, so I don't know what it is that goes in a few hours. I'll try to remember to have a look tomorrow. I've been noticing Venus quite often in the last few weeks as it's so bright and after closing the gate and walking up the drive it's right in front of me! :o

Could this be Nibiru? Also called Planet X. And called the Destroyer in the Bible. Also called Wormwood. Look these things up. Also, I'm on the other side of the planet but has anyone in Thailand noticed the evening sky being a strange color?

Is that you Henry VIII? Would there be any chemtrails in that strange coloured sky?

Thirteen posts and not a single gag about Uranus. Incredible.
