Hi All I Married my Thai Wife in the UK 1 Year ago. Due to a family commitment, She had to return to Thailand before applying for FLR

Now We wish to return to the UK My Wife her Daughter and myself.

I have all the Items other than the X Ray results in place

Question is How much time do they require to prosess the applications. I want to go back to UK as a family ASAP

Just so I know what date to put on for us to go to the UK. they ask when do you want to go.

I have not booked flights and dont want to untill we get the Visas.

Living Chang Mai so will try to get X Rays and submit the same day. If X rays OK.

If not we have to stay in Bkk. so Fingers Crossed.

If no interview is required then a settlement application should be processed within 10 working days.

I assume that your wife came to the UK with a fiance visa, married you but had to leave the UK before converting the fiance visa to FLR; correct? Make sure you explain all this, and the reasons, with this application to avoid the ECO wondering why she did not obtain FLR in the UK; as such wondering will delay the application and may even cause them to want to interview her. Waiting times for an interview can be as long as three months.

What about her daughter? Did she accompany her mother last time? If not, have a read of Chapter 14 - Settlement entry for children and make sure you have covered all the bases; especially Para 14.5 - "Sole responsibility"

Are the X rays to do with TB ? if your talking about TB tests these have to be done in BKK in 2 named hospitals only I am afraid ,,,,,,, I had this problem when I got my wifes fiancee / settlement visa as she lives in an equally far away place near to Phon Phisai ,good luck mate

Thank's for your replies Yes the X Rays are for TB Wife Had one for her UK marraige Visa but it is now out of date.

Daughter is 12 so she has to have one

My Wife as got a Paper to state she as Full responsibillity for her Daughter ( It's in Thai so I dont have a clue what it says)

Good point about making A statement, As to why she came back to Thailand before she applied for FLR I Will put that on the form.

Daughter as had no contact with her Father since soon after she was born. My wife does not Know were he is, or his Date of Birth

Just his name

It'll say that she has sole custody, which is essential to have but is not the same as sole responsibility; as many have found out to their cost.

Sole responsibility basically means that she has not only been providing financial support but has also been making all the important decisions effecting the child's life; schooling etc. See Para 14.5 in the link above.

The longer parent and child have been seperated the more difficult it is to show sole responsibility. I am assuming that the child was living with her mother until she came to the UK and has been doing so again since her return to Thailand. In which case a simple statement confirming that your wife has been exercising sole responsibility with a couple of examples should suffice.

Anybody know if they Will they post Pasports and Doc's back?
