I currently hold a 12 month validity, multi entry non-immigrant visa by marriage obtained from the UK. My last entry stamp was 29 December and the visa expired in February so I want to get 12 month extension before my last entry stamp expires which is 28 March.

Extension will be based on my income from Job with WP of 40,000 per month.

Have I left it too late to apply for the extension?

You’re not too late. You can apply for your marriage extension any time during the last 30 days of your current permission to stay. Best not to leave it until the last moment.

As long as you apply before the last day you will be fine.

As we are talking about an extension based on marriage, it will not be granted immediately,

but you will be given a temporary extension of one month until the full approval comes from Bangkok.

Thats a relief! One related question: I need to go back to the UK in April. Can I leave Thailand and re-enter while waiting for the Extension?

You need to get a Re Entry Permit from Immigration 1,000 Baht. Make sure you get back before your apointment at Immigration.

Not sure. Believe it is the more or less the same as the interview with your wife, but now you also have to sign it. You make the affadavid at immigration.

How many times can I get 60 days extension based on visiting Thai wife?

My multiple non-B expired March 11. I got 60 days extension at Suan Phu for visiting wife until May 10.

I got a new job. I expect to get my new work permit after Songkran week, about April 21.

I would like to apply for 1 year extension right after I receive my work permit based on marriage (first time) and show the work permit and company salary confirmation of over 50,000baht/month.

Last year I worked in Thailand partial year (Jan-Sept) and paid taxes on 360,000baht (have Revenue Dept. Receipt)

My question is: Can I get the 1 year extension based on marriage with just starting a new job. I know I will get first 30 days consideration stamp to check my marriage. If I don't get the one year extension based on marriage (due to lack of tax payments in last 3 months) can I reapply immediately for extension based on work? If I get extension based on work can I change the extension after 3 months based on marriage with proper tax payments for the last 3 months? I just don't like the idea that if I lose my job, the next day I have to leave Thailand or pay 1,900 for 7 extension.

I know that immigration like to see taxes paid the last 3 months for yearly extension and taxes paid on 480,000baht income for last year. If I get another 60 days extension, I can show recent tax payments for 2 months at least. I don't have 400,000baht in a Thai bank but overseas I have that amount in EUR/USD in a bank on my name.

I know I'm borderline case and it can go both ways. Based on how the officer feel that day and based on which officer I get, to evaluate my case. Thanks.

I will report back how things go because some other people might be in similar situation.

You can not get 60 day extensions back to back. In your situation I would not expect any problem, as it is a new job. You will have the chooise between extending based on marriage or work. If one is denied, you can apply for an extension on the other ground.
