Chanote......essential?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Currently renting a condo in CM.

Have usually been one for renting but

doing a visa run with the cook on the

weekend saw a great bungalow in Chiang Rai.

The guy is asking 4 million Baht. Said it's

in his wife's name but has no papers at

all.

I've done a bit of research and noticed

he tried to sell last year for 5 million Baht.

I'm thinking with my heart not head but was

wondering about the dangers of having no

papers. He said was promised chanot by the

land office 3 years ago and still hasn't got it.

Having a quick search, it may also be better

to do the 30 year lease option?

Would appreciate any advise guys.

get a lawyer to do a title search, this will tell you who the owner is and why there is no chanote, who ya gonna lease from if no one really owns the land.

get a lawyer.

get a lawyer.

You can't be serious! Pay 4 million Baht for a piece of property with no papers, are you daft. Plus it's in his wife's name, what does she have to say about this deal?

It looks like somebody is trying to sell you London Bridge....

No title = no deal.

I'm hearing you guys. Like I said,

I'm thinking with my heart not my

head.

As it's in the wife's name, she's selling

it for them both.

Thanks again for the reality check.

Just fell in love with the place.

Will
