Open Gates Re-opening?

Seems to me that Open Gates is looking to re-open soon having seen the bustling activity on the construction site they were originally going to move to, just off the Ghost Road. The change around is puzzling as for months it looked vacant. Now there is a digger there which looks like it was digging a huge swimming pool out and a second block has been started on with the ground floor almost complete. Anyone know what is going on? Is Open Gates re-opening there because something is definitely going on at that site and by the speed of the progress they have made, just since the former site in Bangrak closed, they mean business.

Have to agree with you 110 there. I mean that is a perfect "burn me once shame on you, burn me twice shame on me." scenario. What parent would want to risk their child's well being for a proven failed program?

I wouldn't that's for sure, but i chose the " other one " over Open Gates over a Year ago anyway thankfully..

Planning our exit stratedgy from Bluewater as all of this, observations and looking at alternatives away from Samui makes us painfully and extremely concerned about the inadequacies and limits to resources of "schools" on the island. Youth club or day centers would be a more accurate and less misleading description of "education centers" on the island. However if you wish your children to miss out on key area's of their curriculum, be inaffectively taught/ assessed and all this being applied by poorly managed, governed or assessed teachers, keep going. The cost is simply staggering compared too compared with schools available off Samui who offer resources, direction and historic performance tables. For some judgement will come too late and their child will be unprepared for further education away from Samui.

agree again no purpose in closing threads simply because they stimulate emotions, the good news is emotions run hot and burn out quickly, then the thread just dies a natural death.

so speaking of law suits is any one taking action against the herr dr.? I mean if OG does reopen, is it possible to open while being charged with fraud or such things not saying that he comitted fraud but just as an example and back wages would have the labor department involved of course that is only if OG is reopening.

I have deleted several posts,referring to law suits by employees.An open forum ,is not a place to discuss a proposed action or airing someones detailed financial transactions.This contravenes forum rules.

A good/real lawyer charges 3000 Baht per hour, and max court cost awards are usually 30k,and what exactly do you want to sue them for ?

I don't think Opengates will be surfacing again, the Herr Dr has moved to Phuket where he has decided to send his son to school ( he is not hard to find) anyone needing more information PM me.

The school that was being built has had a few changes, the Thai owner/builder has employed one of the ex teachers from opengates to run a small operation and has two new unqualified (or so I'm told) teachers working there. The nursury is closed and has been rehashed to accomodate the first few students.

I think the OG saga is near the end of the line, I understand the Herr Dr is scared shitless as he has screwed over a lot of good people and he has also run out on his long term girlfriend.

He being a lawyer, has I am sure kept a few bucks for himself in a brown paper bag under the bed and said to hel_l with all the people who trusted him.

don't know anything about the staff other than one of the thai staff was a cook for me at one time and that the OG new building site is now called the british academy of samui BAS and is promising to offer elementry snd secondary soon. The new owner is Tanipan who is the builder who offered to construct the building for herr Dr. To the best of my knowlege Tanipan has no educational background and has never owned or operated anything other than a hardware store. So imho the future of the schol and the ownership is at best questionable
