ChiangMaiFun
The current government is illegitimate. The PAD LOST the last election. Do they think they can ride rough shod over democracy and expect the voices of the people to be silent? There will be blood............................ How did the PAD lose the last election???? they have never been in an election, although they may be in the next one. let them stand then... hold an election an end the crisis - what are they afraid of? (dont bother to answer that!)
Indra
Army Police & Civil Servents = Coulor Blue ???? Who the hel_l are the dudes in blue? They are intent on mixing it with the Reds so at a guess Pad paid heavies?? I saw the blue shirt people in Singapore newspaper. They looked like ninja with head and face covered; Ninjas cover themselves so that they cannot be identified. What is the purpose of the cover for the blue shirt? Anybody can guess it? markg
At first i thought the Army were on the yellow shirts side (as they let them take over swampypoom airport) Now they let the red shirts into the Asean meeting and now the interior ministry (BBC reporting the army just let them in) I come to the conclusion that the Army are just incapable protecting government buildings/people or other property. Incapable. This is unbelievable, it really is. Cambodia or Burma should seize their chance and just invade. Who's going to stop them? The Army cant, that's pretty clear!! aussimike
One dead, two injured. The Nation says it was a car fatality, the reds claim it was gunfire. I guess we'll learn the truth sometime tomorrow. After reading the summery of events from the Nation and the Straits Times - there is no question who is doing the correct reporting -- dont forget the Nation is on the same side of the fence as the yellow and blue shirts -- talk about slanted reporting - just have to read the comments in the Nation this morning - totally anti red -- sure all the staff at the Nation have their yellows shirts on today

Car of course is attacked again no pictures. Now they are saying there are spent shell casings all over the ground........Again no pictures. In this day & age not a single picture.??? JacknDanny
I've just been told that Jatuporn (who went to check on Arisman) has been held too.Whether we are talking about held by blue shirts, army, border patrol or police heaven knows. Bit difficult to keep up! Various reports say Arisman taken to Naraesuan camp and Jatuporn at Vibhavadi or Don Meung or maybe they are in same place and news not keeping up. Looks to me as if army/blue shirts/govt are getting desperate. According to TV, Jatuporn was arrested by the Police.
george
Several police, protesters injured during riot inside Interior Ministry BANGKOK: -- Several police and protesters were injured during a riot inside the Interior Ministry when red-shirted protesters tried to attack a motorcade leaving the compound on suspicion that the prime minister was inside one of the cars, Thai PBS reported. The station confirmed that both Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban were not in any car of the motorcade. The station said Abhisit and Suthep left the Interior Ministry before the red-shirted protesters managed to block the entrance of the compound and ran inside and rioted. -- The Nation 2009-04-

coconutmonkey
Do we need to lock house? (In Bangkok, near Pahonyothin Road)Any advice??? It's still very quiet, but some posters here are saying to lock up/ ? If there is civil insurrection, what good is locking your doors going to do? If it came to that, do you think a mob would say "Oh, doors locked, let's move along?" But my doors are so beautiful..... I doubt they'd want to knock them down. I was worried they would copy the designs..... and leave the front gate open....

Netfan
well, Thailand was the lead story on BBC just now. ""State of Emergency" getting big play. And reporting demonstrators (red) taking over interior ministry building with no resistance put up by army. Singapore news channel reporting warning shots fired, but no casualties. Goodbye tourism, goodbye jobs. Hello civil unrest.

Anybody can guess it? the BLUE shirts are being supported by the mayor of pattaya - some mafia influences here also -- mayor is son of kamnam pho - the big boss of chon buri - and who happens to be in hiding outside of the country due to pending court cases -- and of course the ex member from burirum - Newin -- they cover their faces as they are cowards - and worry about being indentified for shootings and what ever they are seen doing -- just a bunch of hired thugs - one paper refered to them as paid militia --- nuff said

asiawatcher
The Govt has NO control on the Police at all. The Army may have to step in due to the indecisiveness of the PM. At the moment it is Mob Rule and that ain't goin' no where - fast. The special forces were pulled back at ASEAN - because the Red Sh*ts were angry? Diddums - you have got to be joking. Take a stand and that will involve batons, tear gas and anything else necessary to remove unruly, unlawful mobs. Right now - civil disobedience, criminal assault and willful damage are three charges that come to mind in this lawless situation. Careful - many Thai's have told me they have had enough and are talking now abut taking steps to stop this insanity unless the PM does something. To ignore it would be folly. They care nought about the impression they are making on the outside world. This is Thai Vs Thai. Let's hope it torrents down and cools some of the stupidity of the two factions of buffalo's facing off against each other.

Do they think they can ride rough shod over democracy and expect the voices of the people to be silent? There will be blood............................ I think this is a serious point - they should hold an election with ALL sides declaring they will abide by the result - the only answer in my view as current is not elected by the people and has credibility problems - this will not change until they goback to the people whether they like the result or not. Yes, it is the solution indeed. Let's stage a new election and respect the result. If someone think that his opponent is using money politic, then why he doesn't do the same? Eventually, the poor people will earn the money.

jackdanielsesq
Time to break out another bottle of the good stuff. It gets real boring watching people protest when ya too sober. Why dont the silly politicos simply allow Thaksin back into the country and let the chips fall where they may. By NOT doing so they merely serve the current protesters and deny him due-process. Besides, I liked his Dubya style of doing things. BR>Jack
hammered
Jatuporn calls red-shirts to descend on Bangkok to bring down Govt Jatuporn Promphan Sunday urged red-shirted protesters to rise up against the government and attack Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban as first sight. He said there was no longer rule of law so the red-shirted people would attack the government. He claimed that he had been arrested by the military to the Naresuan base in Prachuap Khiri Khan but red-shirted supporters in the base secured his release and sent him to the rally site at the Government House again. Jatuporn urged red-shirted protesters to travel to Bangkok or seize provincial halls. The Nation Scary stuff. They are either going to have their revolution and seemingly lynch people or they are going to be attacked.
