Holiday In Koh Samui

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I'm coming to Koh Samui on the 25th of april. There are a few things I wanna do. diving, jet ski, wake boarding, thai massage and spa. Where are the best places to do these stuffs? How much am I looking to pay? Is there any transport from the Koh Samui airport to the Amarin Victoria hotel that's not a rip off? I've heard the taxi drivers there are rather dodgey. I am gonna spend a day driving round the island, which car hire company would you recommend? Can someone provide contacts for these activities? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Anyone going to Samui around the same date please drop in a message, it would be my pleasure to join a group of ppl for these activities.

These guys do water sports, including kite surfing.

Regarding car hire. If you're just after a no frills jeep to get you about the island and maybe off the road a little, then check out the polish guy next to the police station on top of one of the hills between chaweng and lamai (sorry, i know thats not very specific!). He's a decent guy, and his prices are pretty good. If you're after a nice new shiny 4x4 with all the trimming have a look at "samui new car rent". They are located about 30 meters from the Bangkok Hospital in chaweng on the opposite side of the road.

Hope that helps :o

Thanks Malcom, can you be more specific on the polish guy? such as the name of the garage or contact no.? and where is the rest of the folks in Samui? Any more advice on what I can do during my stay here?

Do Budget do rental at the airport....may cost a little more but would be counteracted by saving your taxi fare..

jet skiing can be done almost anywhere just be careful when you use jet ski here though as some operators of them have been known to rip off tourists. For massage and spa. Have all kinds of prices anywhere from 1000 baht and under to 2500 for a 90 min massage. If you massage at the spa in hotel just be prepared as you will be charged any extra 10% Service Charge & 7% Vat for a list of some spas you can try

eranda herbal spa

living senses spa

peace tropical spa

Airport transfer: Check with your hotel about free pick-up. I see on the sawadee.com Amarin Samui Resort booking page that they offer "airport transfer service".

Various activities: You'll see fliers all over the place including your hotel for that stuff.

Thai massage: get Thai massage on the beach for about 300 baht/hour. Get it in your nice hotel for probably no less than 1000/hr. Services/food offered in nice hotels are more often than not a lot more expensive than what you can get across the street.

Hi there,

I've always rented cars/jeeps from an Ausie guy called Mark. I think his company is called Samui Shuttle, but I always deal directly with him and have recommended him to many others.

Car rental from him costs 700 baht a day for a little jeep and goes up depending on what type of car you want. He also meets you from the airport or ferry port with the car. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to help - PM for for his number.

For hotels check out www.agoda.com.

Have fun! x
