Live Lamp Post

Featured Replies

On Beach Rd opposite the 7/11 near Central Rd is a live lamp post, at least I got quite a shock off it, just a warning as it could be deadly.

Live eh? So what times are the performances? :o

Seriously, it's hardly surprising given the state of the electrics not only there but around most of Thailand. Yes it could be deady should someone come in contact whilst standing in water. But TiT, nothing will happen until a tourist is killed then Mr Mayor will have a photocall at the scene and make sweeping statements about the safety of tourists is our prime concern. Then he will bu66er off back to City Hall and nothing will change.

ONE THING IS FOR SURE, IF NO ONE REPORTS IT TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES... it will stay live.

I am sure that a member living in Pattaya knows how to do/try this, or even contact the Mayor maybe? It is not just governmental agencies who are responsible for everybody's safety, we all are.

If we see a fire, we don`t call the fire-brigade either?

Last year some ome was killed in Pattaya by brushing against a power pole.

Tell the local papers - they can put it on TV (the other TV) and people will come from far and wide just to see if it really is live.

Keep well away from it if it rains heavily. Someone seems to get killed here every year by a power line dangling into flood water.
