Good And Evil Ob/gyn At Ko Samui?

Featured Replies

I am looking for an experienced obgyn to discuss some reproduction issues. Would be grateful for both good and bad reviews and simply rumors. I suspect obgyns in pricy hospitals like Thai Inter or BKK Samui do not have many patients and thus their medical practice is quite poor. Am I wrong? Whom do you intrust your health, ladies?

Obgyn is an endangered species of Doctoricus Femalis. It's an Obstetrician/Gynecologist.

bangkok hospital then

Why so? Any positive experience? So I'm wrong that ob/gyns in posh hospitals lack patients and, consequently, medical practice?

:o

The govnmt hospital in Nathon has every Tuesday and Friday a new female obs/gyn doctor there between 8 and 11 am.

Thaksin private hospital in Suratthani. They a dedicated maternity department.

Please do not post rumors and innuendo, thanks. Best to leave it at recommendations.

You do not mention what reproduction issues you wish to discuss but be aware that if it is fertility issues it is better to see a ob/gyn that specializes in that. The best recommendatiion I can give, giving how personal an issue this is for a woman, is to meet each doctor personally, check their credentials and see how you feel about them personally.

i have trouble with your reasoning.

First of all, the doctors at these "posh" hospitals have access to better labs, equipment, supplies and support.

They are also sattelites of major hospitals in the capital, and as such have reourse to external expertise if needed.

finally, most doctors at these hospitals are likely to have practiced at their larger namesakes. i know of a few BH doctors who have taken working "vacations" at Bkk samui.

i suppose it depends on whether you wish to deliver a child or have an std treated, if its the latter, i'd go public, i am sure they have more experience.

I want ob/gyn for fertility matters, not STD treatment.

Thanks t.s, I didn't know of "BH doctors who have taken working "vacations" at Bkk samui". That makes sense. Otherwise, if a doctor has been treating 1 patient a month during his whole career, no lab and equipment will help...

I guess I'll try BKK Samui and meet the doctor in person as sbk advised - this hospital looks as a leader in this thread.

Make sure the dr specializes in fertility. Not all ob/gyns do.
