Hello everyone

I just moved to Samui a couple of weeks ago and thanks to reading through some other posts on this forum I managed to find flour and yeast at Tops supermarket, however, I am still missing a couple of items I need to get going with my baking. Can anyone advise where I can find the following items:

weighing scales (for cooking not for humans)

rolling pin

baking tin

So far have tried Big C, Tesco and Macro with no luck.

Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

:)

There's a kitchen ware store in Nathon on the main street near 7-11 and the local market (sorry don't know the name) thats a treasure trove of kitchen ware, utensils, etc. Bought some loaf tins there last month and they had a good selection of both non-stick and aluminium baking tins.

Nathon store has a bunch of baskets in the front, on your left as you drive on the street heading to Lamai.

Schmidt's (possibly renamed now) Bakery Supplies comes to mind. Lot's of bulk nuts and other baking ingredients for professional use and a small tool selection as well. It is hard to spot but located near Kokomiko restaurant. It is across from the radio tower that is on the straightaway between the entrance soi to Hin Ta Hin Ya and the hill before the first (South) entrance to Lamai.

I did find a rolling pin at Lotus, but it took quite a bit of looking to spot it.

Have fun :)

Bluebell - which local market do you mean?

The market in the middle of Nathon, it's on the left as you are going down the main road (one-way street). The store is close to there right on the street front and as islandguy says it has lots of baskets as well as plastic bins and buckets outside on the street.

By the way I also found a rolling pin and kitchen scales (Tesco brand) in Lotus but that was several months ago.

John in Nai Wok probably has it, he has used them in the past. Expensive stuff I might add. I had a peek at his catalog and was quite surprised to see 5,000 baht toasters.

San Petch Supermarket in Nathon has quite alot of baking stuff in the back of the store.
