They are both in Bophut area, the first one is handy to all shopping.Again the advice many will give you, is stay somewhere for a night or 2 & look around. May 21, 200916 yr I agree - that's what my partner and I did. We came over for a couple of weeks and spent that time looking around properties. It's so difficult to tell what a place is really like from a photograph. The other thing we found is that there is an awful lot of construction going on around the island and some of the places we initially really liked were right next to building sites so they were immediately crossed off the list. From what I hear as well, rental prices are cheaper because the hotels have slashed prices so more and more people are choosing to stay in a hotel rather than rent an apartment. That should be good news for you as you'll be able to bargain a bit for a long term rate. Good luck!
May 21, 200916 yr Author Yes i appriciate best option is to come over and look, my move is several months away yet and i cant stop myself checking every website out there for properties once i start i just cant stop
May 21, 200916 yr Agreed with stay only a few nights in a few locations to see what best suits you.. Most areas of the island do have basic shopping close by - or not too far away... Depends on the scene you are looking for. Chaweng - busy.... Choengmon where we were living for two years - local to the resort I was working, very very quiet...Lamai - 50/50 can find the best of both worlds... Bophut - same.. All have something about them that suits particular needs and wants... Enjoy your time on Coconut Island - we miss it all the time now being back in the city! (BKK)
