A few weeks ago at S. San Plu, I was lucky to get an 'Application for extension of stay is under consideration......' stamp.

I have read that if you hand in your pp between 08.30 and 12.00, you won't get it back until after the lunch break. So, I would presume that going there at 08.30 would be pointless (as I'd have to wait longer than if I went just before 12.00).

Or, if I went early and there weren't too many people, what are the chances of getting my pp back before lunchtime?

All first-hand experiences welcome!!

Thanks

Yesterday recent enough? Submit 0830 to 1200 and pick up in sala (open area) at what is called the drop off point in entry drive (after passing main immigration hall) at 1400-1500. No exceptions.

You take passport to entry area of room 101 and unmanned table with basket and queue numbers. Clip one copy of number on passport and keep other copy for pickup.

The queue numbers are removed from 1200-1300 so make sure you get there before noon or you will be waiting until 1300 to submit and pick up will be 1600-1700.

The pick up area is up a few steps up and there are two airline type counters and some blue plastic chairs - nobody there except during the handout period.

That's close enough for me, Lopburi!!

Thanks to both you and Joe!

PS I'm a little confused about where to pick up the pp after 2.00pm! Is it in the sala as you mentioned at the top of your post, or a few steps up (which I assume that it's a few feet away from the deposit area in room 101)

Anyone can do from what I noticed (but I was the first to receive so did not see if checking passport photos), do not recall mine even being opened - just give queue card and take passport. I did open to make sure they had not lost the old arrival card - they had stapled it in new passport.

"It seems anytime in the moring is ok and then go back at 2, But from the following topic by lopburi3 it seems that waiting will do no good because they won't give it back until 2.http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Transfer-Ext...8349.html"

My application for extension of stay is under consideration was approved today based on being married to a Thai and having employment (1 month) in Bangkok. Now my extension of stay date is 10 May 2010, same as my work permit expiration date.

I did not do this dropping off passport in the morning and picking up after lunch routine. I went straight to the officer at 11:30AM, who handled my case the last 2-3 weeks. She went upstairs to get my file, then stamped the 1 year extension date and let another officer sign it. I was out of room 101 in 15 minutes. Then I reported my 90 days address the next room in 10 minutes. Left building at 11:55AM.
