Phitsanulok To Chang Mai

Featured Replies

I am trying to find out if there are any flights which go directly from Phitsanulok to Chang Mai without having to go back to Bangkok first. Anybody got any info please.

THAI flew this route a few years back but shed it when they dumped all of their non-profitable domestic routes onto the smaller carriers. I think somebody else flew the route for a bit but that's no longer the case. The bus or the train is probably your best bet.

Thx mate, I had a nasty feeling this might be the case. Took the train last time (I like trains) - the wife moaned all the way (c.8 hrs). Must try to get the Sprinter this time!

The Sprinter is a good option. It's about a six hour run. If you catch the afternoon Sprinter you'll get to see a good amount of the mountain scenery before it gets dark. The stretch just north of Den Chai is particularly nice.

I am pretty sure you can get a flight from Sukhothai to Chiang Mai. It is only 45 minutes drive from Pitsanalouk to the airport near Sukothai.

Again if my memory serves me right I think it is Bangkok Airways that do the flight. Check first!!!!

Hadn't thought of that but you're right, Sukhothai-Chiang Mai and v.v. is a long-running Bangkok Airways route. Looks like there's hope yet for bigalsouth's wife not having to take the train. :o
