21 New Cases Of Influenza 2009 In Pattaya

so now we all get paranoid about a bit of flu, in Pattaya??

Don't think to many people are paranoid mate and it's not this virus we have to worry about at the moment

But if and when it mutates and possibly mixes with H5N1 (endemic in Asia)

doubt that it will mix but agree H5N1 could mutate but I am not a virologist so wouldnt really know but as pointed out it is the general grasp of terminology and fear (or lack of grasp) that often creates the problem. How many people in the world died from malaria today and did it make the global headlines as did the flu status in australia?

:)

Well said! Millions of people die of malaria but that seems to be less important than people catching the flu. 141 have died of this flu so far. A child dies every thirty seconds of malaria. About 1 to 1.5 million people a year worldwide. If malaria became widespread an affected rich nations, I'm sure more money would be used to irradicate the disease.

If this flu virus only affected poor people then we could all sleep easy :D

To be fair, since the WHO initiated attempts to eradicate malaria, there has been significant progress in a number of places. While it hasn't been as successful as a couple other eradications, I think the problem is a little beyond blaming only rich nations.

Are they giving any indication of WHICH disco?

Cases are rising, and if they don't give any indication which disco is the plan to wait until more and more people get sick and the thing goes further. Or are they going to let anyone know?

According to the Pattaya one news website it was the Star Dice in Naklua and it is shut until further notice.

What are the odds that all the staff are wrapped up at home in the pyjamas taking their pills and eating somtaam for the next 10 days?

Did they release them all to go home? If they did wait for the numbers to keep rising.

What exactly happens to these people after they have been diagnosed with Swine Flu?

well, most people who have contracted it are most likely forced into secure medical units and pumped with highly toxic chemicals in the hope that the virus dies.

Rather than that, I just ordered 3 bottles of this patented product, check out the video evidence of how it irradicates Malaria, H1N1 and MRSA etc within 2-5 days!!!

Videos #6,#7 and #8 in particular are excellent.

Update:

INFLUENZA 2009

Thailand confirms 21 new cases of flu in Pattaya

BANGKOK: -- Thailand on Thursday reported 21 new cases of the flu, all of them were discotheque staffs in Pattaya, Thai Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai said.

Among the 90 samples collected from people who worked in hotel and discotheques in Pattaya, 21 of them were confirmed to be positive to the flu.

The collection of the samples were conducted after two Taiwanese who visited Pattaya were found infected by the flu when they returned home.

"All 21 cases which were found positive to the flu were staffs of a discotheque in Pattaya," he said.

He also referred to a 11-year-old student of a private school who was infected by the flu although he had no record of travelling to a foreign country like other patients.

His school suspended their classes for three days, starting today, to find the source of the flu.

Witthaya said the investigation still continued and still could not find the source.

He added that the ministry is still waiting for lab results of the boy's 13 classmates.

"About 30 teachers of the school are scheduled to return to Bangkok next week from the United States. We will also observe them," he said.

Meanwhile five more cases of the flu were confirmed on Thursday afternoon, one of them was mother of the 11-year-old infected boy.

The mother had no symptom but lab test showed that she was positive to the flu.

Another patient had no record of travelling abroad but he picked up his son who returned from a foreign country at Suvarnabhumi Airport recently.

Two other cases were a man who just returned from Singapore and a woman who visited the US recently.

The fifth was a British man who was on his way to Cambodia and made a transit at Suvarnabhumi Airport. He was found high fever and running nose. He was admitted to a hospital and lab test showed he was infected by the flu.

Hi Thank You 4 that supersilver link..... :)

Swine flu is a virus, of course, and bacterial remedies are lucky to have an effect, but the contraindications of any treatment can be worse.

Noting that the USA's FDA and medical system is NOT a model for health care anymore. Here's the Ausy take on Super Silver (colloidal silver):

"In 2002, the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration amended its rules so that water-treatment products containing substances like colloidal silver for which therapeutic claims are made must meet the requirements of medicines included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. This means that such products can no longer be legally marketed without proof that they are safe and effective for their intended purpose. The amendment was based on clnclusions that:

There is little evidence to support therapeutic claims made for colloidal silver products; "

The risk to consumers of silver toxicity outweighs the value of trying an unsubstantiated treatment, and bacterial resistance to silver can occur

Efforts should be made to curb the illegal availability of colloidal silver products, which is a significant public health issue [16].

Colloidal silver was used before the developement of penicillian. You have to do your reserch on this product many of these products are low quality and you donot get the effect but in the higher quality ones the silver molocules are small enough to cross the various barriers the body sets up.

The WHO has officially declared this a pandamic by raising the alert level from a 5 to 6.

Good luck out there.

"What exactly happens to these people after they have been diagnosed with Swine Flu?"

Random example case from the USA less than a month ago:

"An assistant principal at a New York City public school died of complications from swine flu in an intensive care unit . . . death came five days after he entered the hospital and three days after his school was shut down by health officials . . . even in a normal flu season, thousands of victims die of complications from the disease . . . had a history of medical problems that may have put him at greater risk. His family said that he had suffered from gout but that it was under control with medication."

We're destroying the tourist industry which we created!

if you look at the reports it has so far been, till this week,

more Thais visiting outside and bringing it back.

You think none gave it to farang friends BEFORE they went to Pattaya....

Or are Thais never contagious?

And how can you imagine pandemics even consider borders,

or jingoist, nataionalistic sentiments such as yours?

The WHO have just raised the Level to 6. meaning that it is now officially a Pandemic, at the highest level.

Take some extra care and shop for the pregnant Mrs.?

"Pregnancy weakens a woman’s immune system, so that she’s more likely to suffer pneumonia when she catches the flu. In earlier flu pandemics, infection also raised the risk of a premature birth."

Odds are pretty good that LOTS of us reading this are going to get this, either in the first wave or later waves.

The announcement essentially warns WHO's 194 member nations to expect the arrival of the new flu strain, which is likely to infect up to one-third of the population in the first wave and return in later waves over the next several years.

No need to cancel your holiday . Do not forget that most countries allready have more then a few cases and probably also the country where you come from . It is not HIV or Hepatitis where there is a lot more infections from in Pattaya and is more dangerous . Get real and do not let the media make you scared . Yes you need to take care , same like with every flu but at the moment it is not a dangerous form .

I can't remember all the post but.

"Worried about a little flu...."

"Panic to avoid looking at the economic problems..."

"I am more worried about..." bla bla bla..

This flu is dangerous, and it is a killer, not just the very young and old are at most risk.

So would you worry a little more if you grandparents died?

Or how about your kids, older brother, sister and so on. :D

Take this threat seriously, right now there is no Vaccine for mass use ready. Tamiflu is NOT a cure it instead relieves most of the symptoms to allow your own imune system to do it's job better.

What Makes Swine Flu Potentially so Dangerous?:)

The reason why swine flu is a risk is that influenza is a highly contagious illness. H1N1 influenza is not nearly as deadly as, say, Ebola or other hemorrhaging fevers, but if a pandemic happened and it has, in the worst case up to 1/3 of the population could get sick. In that case even a 5% risk of dying from the illness could mean death of millions.

What may make swine flu more dangerous than a normal influenza season is that like the Spanish flu of 1918, it has killed mostly healthy young people. Usually influenza is only dangerous for the old and sick. This suggests that like with the Spanish Flu, the potentially deadly part could be the immune reaction the body mounts against the virus. As such young people with healthier immune systems may actually be more at risk than the old and frail.

Try This: say you get h1n1 virus and you dont know, your healthy and all symptoms are not yet active, you go to a birthday bash and get smashed durnk on vodka.

Then you wake up DEAD! Choked on your own body fluids suffocated like a rat.

Does that get your attention?

Measures you can take:

1 Use Cloth masks

2 Wash your hands allot

3 Avoid crowds

4 Dont listen to complacent idiots on this board that might get you or your loved ones killed. :D

swine flu... just a distraction from the economic problems that are bringing the world down... keep the people scared and distracted so they don't see your mistakes

nicely said.. look what they are doin in the states.. FEAR will get all your laws voted without any problem :D LOL

The "normal" flu still kills MANY MANY more EVERY DAY so what's all the fuss about??

You wanna hear how many people yearly die from a simple ear infection or a bee sting?? It's only cause it's something "new" that

the media is rolling overtime, and oh my buddha how they love that 555

grtz and if you caugh get ur ass to the hospital!!

see you in walking street :)
