What's the usual requirement to be a lecturer at a University in BKK? The English speaking ones like ABAC.

From what I have been told....

Loving it enough and/or being rich enough to do it for the pittance paid. Like schools here there are some premium positions and payers but most are pretty low paying. Some Uni's pay less than 30k per month. Guest lecturers that have a position in the US, UK, etc., can get more for a one off course but unlikely to be recruited full time at that higher level of salary.

Minimum qualification legally is a BA GPA 2.8+ but they are also unlikely to want you long term at that level as they desire Masters or preferably Ph.D qualified lecturers to add status to their Uni/faculty.

Compare that to school teachers in decent schools here on 50k+ and it seems a little odd, :) but TIT.

Hope this helps.

Sounds good. Where do I start looking?

Ajarn . com would be a good start. Or do the leg work yourself and apply personally to each uni you are interested in working for.

Kinda thought that if you wanted to work in a uni you would be able to work out how to do this basic research yourself though. :)

Good luck anyway.
