Why do I never see packets of crisps and nuts for sale behind the expat bars? I have a bar nibble that I would like to market to the expat bar fraternity and prepared to invest in but am curious as to the lack of crisp and peanuts for sale. Is it prohibited to sell those items behind the bar?

Any enlightenment appreciated.

The Black Swan at Asoke sells imported Walkers Crisps not Thai Lays behind the bar (I recomend the beef and onion pie). My future wife owns bars etc some for expats and she gives free crisps and nuts away all night. Edited by barrella

Thai food is cheaper and healthier I guess?

Just supply and demand...

Only recently 'Lays" have produced cheese and onion and cream cheese and Chive here , and weve had the bbq flavour for a while . Up until that point we had to put up with Stinking Crab , Seaweed and buffalo in a swamp flavour crisps. Its no (golden) Wonder , hahaha , that we never ask for Crisps.
