Registration of sex workers

Featured Replies

Just read the news.  Women complain that they would be labeled for life as prostitute.  What about the business is this going to be labeled as a house of prostitution for life thus be a target for hefty taxes?

I say women should be registered as a sex employee so that they are required to have their medical checkups every week for diseases, especially HIV.  Also by being registered it tells the foreigner that they are legit sex employees, and have medical documentation to back themselves up being clean.  If they do leave such job, then their names can be removed from such register.

Such practice as described above is widely done at the Netherlands.  No such thing as being labeled prostitutes for life.

Secondly the business is already registered to operate such under the ministry and the tax books etc.  Why have to add another registry declaring it a house of prostitution.  Makes such place a prime target for future plans of hefty tax hikes.

Then thailand wonders why the huge gap between the rich and the poor?  The government should look at themselves on who is pocketing all the dough, their labor wage law, and how they scrimp their cash cow to the public and their people.  Also the rules regarding the foreigners in opening a business and these work permits is so steep, many cannot or barely meet such requirements, thus restricting prospects of such company ever developing to employ their people. Thailand needs to have freer enterprise and make it more attractive to get businesses started so they can grow thus making the economic engine of Thailand better.

One wonders just what the heck Thailand wants to project to the world.  Their rules are one thing, then they hike the fees up the sky, then they ante up the bank requirements, then they bang the foreigners is another, then the women complain about the so called reputation, and then Thailand complains about the gap of rich and poor.

Open for discussion anyone?

It is a vexed question Dave. If there is an exit name removal, fine, if not there is the life labelling. I think the Senate enquiry will knock it on the head.

Only if they do not do exactly what I say.

They are already known as professionals is that not good enough.
