I do not know about guest houses here, but the Princess Green hotel is a nice, clean, and fairly new little place a few km from the bus station. You would have to take a motorbike taxi or tuktuk. I think it costs about 450 baht and has Internet available. I've stayed there and liked it. You can call them about hours of operation. I do not think anybody there speaks English.

There are about 20 guesthouses surrounding Phitsanulohk bus station. You can't go wrong.
