Greetings All

In some cities around our world, people have turned to renovating and living in warehouse spaces to solve their accommodation problems. I can certainly see the attaction of living in a converted loft or warehouse space in Bangkok, rather than occupying a cramped condo in a high rise building. Is this alternative accommodation - living in a warehouse - available in Bangkok? If so, are these warehouse spaces already renovated or is it up to the intrepid tennant to modiy the place to suit your own requirements

If such accommodation is available, where would I be able to find more information about them ??

Thanks heaps

I would think I would feel unsafe in the type of building you are referring to. Construction practices are not those of western countries. If there was even a minor earthquake in BKK many would come down. Not the same as New York I afraid. The vermin would be astounding in a old wharehouse in BKK. But each to his own-

Several of my friends and I live in converted shop houses. I have 3 floors (about 350sqm) and pay 7000 per month in the Satorn area close to shopping and BTS. Of course they come pretty basic with no furnishing and you have to do a lot to them. There is one double shop house across from me for rent. Two floors at about 7000 and it's bigger than mine.

I lived in condos for years and like you I was looking for something different and now rent my condo out. I love my house and anybody who has seen it wants to find a shop house themselves. The problem is they are not advertised and you have to walk around the neighborhood you want to live in and see house with just a phone number on the door and also ask the people living around there.

You can pm me if you want any more info.
