Recommend Small River Restaurant

Featured Replies

I need a small river-side restaurant with boat access for a small group. I don't want a big hotel with inflated prices. Jut something a bit humble and reasonably priced. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Yok Yor, accross from the River City Mall probably fits your bill. They have a boat that will pick you at the dock and take you accross or you can drive accross river and park on that side.

Have to say is seems like the food as gone downhill the past few years though.

One of my favourite places if your looking for something reasonably priced and humble if you can drop the need to get there by boat would be Khinlom Chom Saphan, it is always very busy with Thais so you would definitely need to reserve a large table for groups well in advance. Their website is here: http://www.khinlomchomsaphan.com

Ban Klang Nam end of Soi 14 Rama 3 Road. Mostly Thais, very good. Also nice to travel to via the river. Any major hotels staff will know it. Taking a group down, or is that up, river and debarking off a long boat is an adventure itself. You'll need to let them know you are coming, esp by river......02 689-1969 Google it for more info.

Khinlom Chom Saphan and Yok-Yor are both good recommendations.

In Love at the Tha Thewit ferry stop is good also and easy to get to by boat if you take the river shuttle. Good food, nice soft music, up on a deck overlooking the river.

On the other side of the river if you get off at Sirirat ferry stop, walk into the market to your right and walk south, downstream a 100 meters or so there's a nice place with a second floor view of the river and all the royal temples across the river. It's easy to find.

More to the south of Bangkok is Good View http://www.goodview.co.th big place and very popular.

So many choices really, no reason to go to a stuffy hotel. All of these are reasonably priced.

Funnily enough I asked the exact same question last week and I found Yok Yor.

They were great picking us up, food was excellent and beer was very reasonable.
