Travelling up to Bangkok? We really wanted a stopover and came across Bangsaphan (Yai). Nice quiet little village halfway between Chumphon & Prachuab KhiriKhan.

10mins off the highway, we ventured into town and found Bangsaphan Guest House run by an English couple. We recieved a warm welcome and enjoyed a homecooked meal. The accommodation was reasonably priced; very spacious clean rooms with all mod cons. A very pleasant Bar & Restaurant serving European food.

The following morning after a hearty English breakfast, we continued our journey with a couple of excellent freshly homemade Pizza's, which the Guest House make to order.

Highly recommended!! Wanted to give them a plug!! It was the perfect place to stop halfway, just when we'd had enough driving, and really did not fancy another 2 hrs to Hua Hin.

For the same purpose I heartly recommend Prachuap Beach Hotel in Prachuap Kiri Khan (hxxp://prachuapbeach.com/). Clean rooms, free WiFi in the rooms, ample parking space on the other side of the road. Easy to find, just into town until you hit the beach road, turn right you cannot miss it.

For dinner leave the hotel on the beach side and walk left to the restaurant next to Golden Beach Hotel named "Plien Samut" or similar. Open restaurant, reasonable prices, good food.

The Bangsaphan Guest House's most expensive room is 700bht, which includes UBC, Hot water, tea & coffee, & free WiFi which we really appreciated being on the move as we were. The beer was only 65bht for a large (Leo) bottle. The breakfast was amazing at just 100bht. So, guys, we thought it a really good deal. As mentioned above they also have plenty of parking.
